This is achieved through drug screening via EIA analyzer and confirmations via Liquid Chromatography / Mass Spectrometry (LC-MS/MS). Considered the gold standard for confirmatory testing, LC-MS/MS offers the best detection limits with little to no interference. Helix’s method validations for LC-MS/MS follow accepted guidelines by both CLIA and COLA.

Helix performs confirmatory testing on both urine and oral fluid specimens. Urine has long been the gold standard in confirmation testing, providing longer detection windows for drug identification. Oral fluid testing is a more recent technique, it allows for a simpler, less invasive specimen collection but in general, has shorter detection windows due to the lower bioavailability of drugs present in oral fluid. Helix can work with you to determine your testing purposes and can provide guidance on which matrix to test.
